He broke a toilet tank cover in my house when he was here doing work and has refused to come back and replace the toilet since. He was here to replace a bathroom fan in my ceiling and dropped the old fan out of the ceiling while replacing it and not only smashed the top of my toilet tank breaking it into pieces but also scratched brand new paint on two different walls in the process and has never been back to acceptably repair the toilet or do anything with the scratched walls and many many months have passed. I have had to bother him over and over and over again about rectification of this issue. He even showed up on my property once "to show good faith" telling me he would be back in 3 weeks to replace the toilet. I contacted him 3 weeks later and he gave me an attitude about how he was busy doing paying work and replacing the toilet "wasn't life or death" and "wasn't a priority" and gave me the impression he basically wanted me to stop contacting him entirely and that he would contact me when he was ready to replace it (this was already after more than 3 months had passed since he broke it). As if telling me to stop contacting him and he would contact me was even remotely acceptable when he had never kept in contact with me since the incident and I had to chase him the entire time. He at one point supplied me a ridiculous replacement tank cover and I think he thought I was going to accept that even though it is at least 5 inches too big for the toilet. The cover I had before he broke it fit the toilet perfectly. I'm not going to accept a replacement that is 5 or 6 inches too big and looks ridiculous when I had an appropriately fitting tank cover prior to him breaking it. I told him this when he brought me the ridiculous replacement cover and told him I would not accept what he brought as a replacement and that he would need to find me a replacement that actually fit the toilet or replace the toilet entirely. What makes this situation so much worse is that one of the days he worked at my house, he ran out of gas about a half mile from my house and on my own fruition during my work day and on my own time and dollar I went and got him gas and saved him without asking anything in return. Not even payment for the gas that I had gotten. After what had happened and the damage he caused, despite the fact he should be responsible not only for the toilet he broke but also for the walls and the paint he scratched, I told him just fix the toilet and I will paint the walls (beyond generous and kind of me since he should be responsible for all of that) and this is how he behaves. On the last contact when he didn't show up after 3 weeks to replace the toilet as promised and basically told me to stop bothering him, he offered to return my money rather than coming back to replace the toilet. I gave him one week to do so. Multiple weeks have passed and returning my money has not happened either. This man should not be working in people's houses as he does not care about the client nor the condition that he leaves their home in after working there. This man is a terrible human being who does not care about his clients, nor the condition that he leaves their home. If he breaks something in your home, it will not be a priority to him to fix it as he will rather continue doing paying jobs then fix what he has broken. In our last conversation, he literally called making this situation right "charity." I'm pretty certain he is illegally doing electrical work because I'm fairly certain with his behavior over the situation that it's a certainty he does not have a GL policy which I'm fairly certain has got to be a requirement for anyone doing electrical work. Do not hire him unless you want to risk something being broken in your home and never repaired. Read more
